PTA Board Members 2011-2012
President: Trang Sabel
I joined the Westbriar family in 2009 and my husband and I have 2 sons: Alexander is in 2nd grade, and Calvin is in preschool. I had heard so much about the active involvement of parents and staff and am proud to have witnessed it firsthand in my first years at Westbriar. We have an excellent staff of administrators and educators and I look forward to carrying on the tradition of enabling them to educate and nurture our children via funds from the PTA.
I am an Program Director for a major corporation and like to use my project planning skills in my PTA and mom duties! I have met so many great parents and friends in my short time at Westbriar, as has my son, and we are looking forward to more fabulous years at school.
Please feel free to contact me at any time and provide feedback on anything. Our Board and Principal are very open to new ideas and improvement opportunities.
Vice President: Sherrie Morris
I have been a Westbriar Mom since 2006 when my oldest started Kindergarten.
She is now in 5th grade(!), and my younger daughter is in 2nd grade.
Both my husband and I grew up in the DC metro area and really enjoy Vienna’s hometown feel.
I have a Masters in Environmental/Marine Biology, and after taking a six years off to be a stay-at-home Mom and teaching science at a local preschool, I am now working part-time at Booz Allen Hamilton. I have volunteered on a variety of PTA committees and look forward to helping Westbriar while on the PTA board. I am amazed at the dedication of the parents, students, and staff at Westbriar and hope that we can all contribute to the continued success of such a great school.
Secretary: Sarah de Kramer
I have three children at Westbriar, Reece, Brooke, and Ethan. We moved to Vienna in 1999 and my oldest son started at Westbriar in 2006. We love Westbriar! We are so impressed with the dedication and warmth the staff show our children every day. They are genuinely interested in helping our children develop to their greatest potential which is why I became involved in the PTA. The PTA at Westbriar is an active, hardworking, fun organization that helps support all that our teachers do. Over the past few years, I have coordinated some of the afterschool enrichment programs, like science and hip hop, chaired the Reflection Art Program, served as kindergarten and library coordinator, and helped with Family Fun Night and International Night. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know other parents through these events and programs, as well as the staff at Westbriar. I am a school counselor in Fairfax County, but have been home with my kids for the past 8 years. As a counselor, I have seen many schools in Fairfax County and can tell you without a doubt, Westbriar is among the best. I hope you will consider becoming involved in the PTA. It is so rewarding to watch the children become excited and engaged in the programs we sponsor and support.
Treasurer: Erica Everhart
I have a first grader at Westbriar and a 4 year old Falcon-in-waiting. We have fallen in love with Westbriar during our first year here. In fact, I often pity my friends who live outside of our boundaries. We have lived in the DC area since the mid 1990s, but moved out to the 'burbs of Vienna in 2004. Our favorite things about Vienna are Viva Vienna, Oktoberfest, the weekly farmers market, the bike path, our awesome neighborhood, and story time on the Town Green. The feeling of community that you get in Vienna is wonderful!
I spent last year serving as the Assistant Treasurer for the PTA and one of the room parents. These two roles were excellent ways to get acquainted with the school. Witnessing the dedication that the parents, teachers, and students have for our school made me excited to get more involved with the PTA.
When I'm not wearing my "Mommy hat," I am an attorney. In my spare time, I love to garden, play tennis, play the piano, cook, knit and sew.
