October 2011 - Marc Chagall

The October GRACE Arts Artist is the Russian Marc Chagall. Chagall was a brilliant colorist who communicated his memories, moods, and feelings through his art work. His paintings reflect elements of symmetry, proportion, composition, and focal point emphasis. Chagall’s principle medium was oil paint but he also created designs for stained glass windows, beginning in the 1950’s. The projects chosen for Westbriar students this month emphasize Chagall’s involvement with stained glass.
