Westbriar Elementary School PTA
Inclusion at Westbriar means embracing the diversity in our community and celebrating the differences that make us unique. Inclusion means no one should be left out. This program teaches our children how to be kind, how to be brave, and how to be a friend through practical lessons and activities.
Monthly lessons are provided to every classroom. Teachers spend 15-30 minutes each month discussing different topics including bullying, empathy, helping others, etc. Students then engage in a short activity that helps them practice being more inclusive.
If we get 80% participation from all the classrooms the students will enjoy a school wide treat!
We will be launching our first monthly lesson of the school year in October.
"Food Allergy Awareness"
We will learn about food allergies and how we can be kind, be brave, and be a friend to those who have them.
We will also learn about the Teal Pumpkin Project
Inclusion is about making sure no one is left out!
