Westbriar Elementary School PTA
An inclusion program at Westbirar aimed to teach our children how to be kind, how to be brave,
and how to be a friend through practical lessons and activities.
Teach them early and often and our children can change the world for the better.
The program will launch during National Inclusion Week December 3 - 7, 2018.
Each day will have a different theme/activity.
The class with the highest participation throughout the week will win a pizza party!
Monday, December 3 "I am Unique" Crazy Hair Day
Tuesday, December 4 "I Care About Others" Wear the color red
Wednesday, December 5 "I'm Here to Help!" Wear a superhero shirt/outfit
Thursday, December 6 "I Stand Up for Others" Stand up your socks!
(Wear them high and outside your pants!)
Friday, December 7, 2018 "We Are One!" Wear Westbriar Spiritwear
After National Inclusive Schools Week there will be monthly lessons/activities for students to continue learning about different aspects of inclusion.
Nominate a teacher for Inclusive Teacher of the Year!
At the end of the year we will honor 1 teacher from K-2 and 1 teacher from 3-6 with a $250 gift certificate for finding ways to be more inclusive and teach their students more about inclusion. Nominations can be made by anyone! Parents, staff, students! All nominations should be emailed to email@example.com by May 31st.
