Teacher Appreciation Guidelines

Hello Room Parent Volunteers,

Fast approaching is an age-old tradition at Westbriar Elementary:

Teacher Appreciation Week - May 2-6!!  It is an entire week in which we show our utmost, sincere appreciation to all those teachers and administrators who give so much to our children.

The schedule for the week is as follows:

Monday - There will be a teacher luncheon sponsored by the PTA.  If you are interested in donating a door prize, contact Elizabeth Keegan.

Wednesday - Each teacher will receive a bouquet of flowers.  Children should bring in 1 or 2 flowers and a card for their teacher(s).  Please solicit 2-3 parent volunteers from your child's class to help gather flowers from the children as they drop them off and to help arrange the flowers for your child's teacher.  

You will need to bring a vase - there are extra vases in the PTA room should you need additional vases for your classroom.  They will be first-come, first-served basis and there are some extras in the front office.  Some may need to be washed.  Ribbons are always a nice touch also.  

We will meet in the cafeteria before school starts (around 8 a.m.) Wednesday to do the arranging together - it gets kind of crazy but the arrangements turn out quite stunning.  There will be tables designated with a sign for each classroom teacher so let the children know to look for their teacher's name when dropping flowers off.

Thursday- The PTA is sponsoring a teacher breakfast catered by Panera with existing PTA Funds.

We are encouraging parents, in addition to their children, to take a moment and write a note to their child's teacher, expressing their gratitude for how the teacher has helped their child.

Please get this info out to your parents ASAP so you can keep everyone in the loop and solicit the flower arranging volunteers.  Thank you so much for your wonderful dedication this year.  And thank you for helping make this such a special week for our wonderful Westbriar teachers and staff!!
